Obey the government, for God is the one who put it there!
Our team from Bible School visited the "political head quarters" (Rådhuset) on Bømlo. We are christian studenst interested in they’re political challenges here in Bømlo. We decided to have a meeting with the police constable of Bømlo, and the political leaders in this town. We asked Inge Reidar Kallevåg and Roald Raunholm what Christian Fellowship, as a church can do for the authorities and what they thought we could do best for the society. The police constable met us with a smile. He said that we could help the society with prayer to "fight" against crimes as blind violence; we believe that this can’t be stopped without knowledge and prayer, and this is our Christian responsibility, as well as for all others. We can be “change makers” by praying, and “practise what we preach”, and be good examples to our dear youth. He said that we could mean a great deal for the youth, and change they’re attitudes. We understand that this next generation is the ones who are going to run this country in a few year, - so this is the most important message from the police force. They want help from the audience. The “governor” of Bømlo said that this meeting was a pleasant surprise, and that he was pleased with that question; - “what can we do for you?” We had an interesting conversation and found out that we, as a church, are able to rise a new generation of politicians, and that we could pray to fight against the alcoholic problems in this town, and the “too early sexual debut tendencies” of the youth. We brought this message back to the elders in the Christian Fellowship, and encouraged them to work together with the government to make Bømlo a better place. Respect for Authority?
